Privacy
The website
- No cookies and no tracking. We count page views and a few taps (sign-ups, the beta and App Store links, the press page) with our own small counter on Cloudflare, which keeps its data in the EU. With each page view it keeps the page, the site you came from, the ad's campaign if there was one, your country and your device's kind of system (like iOS or Windows). To count visitors, your IP address and your browser's description are turned into a code that changes every week; neither is stored, and the code is deleted at the end of its week. The rest is kept for 90 days, then only as daily totals. Links in our ads carry a campaign name, so we can tell which ad brought a visit.
- farwire.ch is hosted by Infomaniak in Switzerland. Like any web server, it keeps short technical logs (such as the IP address and time of a visit) for security.
- If you join the waiting list, pressing Send passes your email address straight to Infomaniak in Switzerland, after a short automatic anti-spam check in your browser. Infomaniak stores it, and you confirm it once by email. We use it to invite you to the beta and to tell you when Farwire launches, and for nothing else. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us any time to delete your address.
- If you write to us, we keep your message so we can answer it.
The game
- No account, no advertising, no tracking across other apps or websites.
- Statistics. Unless you turn it off (Settings → Share anonymous statistics), the game counts how it's played, to find what's too hard or unclear. It sends the app's version, the week it was installed and the days since, and when it's opened; how each expedition starts and ends (the level, the result, the words used, the seals, hints and Try-this taps); how far each chapter's opening story was watched; level 1's guide steps; the difficulty you chose; the daily's result; whether the unlock was viewed and bought; whether you tapped Share; your answer to the reminders card; and errors. Nothing it sends says who you are or which device you use, or links one count to another: no name, no account, no ID, no location, and never your telegrams. The counts go to our own small service on Cloudflare, which doesn't keep your IP address, and they're kept in the EU: each for 90 days, then only as daily totals.
- Reminders. If you turn them on, your iPhone or iPad schedules them itself.
- Your progress, telegrams included, is saved on your device. If you're signed in to iCloud, it's also saved in your own iCloud, so it follows you to your other iPhone or iPad with the same Apple Account. Apple keeps it for you; we can't see it.
- Apple handles purchases. We never see your payment details.
